A ten-hour indulgent feast redefining the term "shock and awe." Also, pics from the Park Slope Lounge.
I could have sworn they said dinner was starting at 1 PM. This year I took out some extra insurance and hailed a cab, so as to not have my train break down or be stuck on the Windiest Corner in Brooklyn two years running. I was still an hour late... but when I walked in I realized that I was one of the first to arrive. Blaine feigned innocence about this little mix-up but I think this was planned which, really, was just as well. It was much more effective than setting my watch fifteen minutes ahead, which I can't even do since my watch is my cell phone, whose time is set by the carrier.
I was smoking some top quality crack because I was under the completely ludicrous notion that I wasn't even very hungry this Thanksgiving and that I would practice moderation. Right.
Plate after plate of delicious food appeared (and it was all good with rice) and by the time the cheese course appeared we were waving their surrender flags. Below is a menu as best as we can remember. There was just a lot of food. I suppose I did not need to bring those five pints of ice cream.
