I went to see So This Is New York, part of the Tribeca Film Fest.
The movie is billed as possibly the only movie with the name "New York" in the title that wasn't screened here. To everyone's surprise, Martin Scorcese came out to give a little introduction. I got a real kick out of the movie, and it underscores how certain aspects of big city life humor never change.
After the movie finished I sat down in City Hall Park to relax and reflect. The park, with its central fountain, was a cool oasis in the middle of the intersecting streets bleeding off the rest of the day's heat and traffic. It also reminded me how damned tall the Woolworth Building is.
